Upheaval is a two day festival in Grand Rapids that hosts 2 stages over two days for an amazing lineup of rock artists. You can get up close in the pit or hang out on the grassy hill for a great view. Camping is not available at this festival, but travel packages with a variety of hotel options are available on the website.

What Can You Bring?

Smoking and vaping are not permitted in Grand Rapids parks and this is specifically pointed out on the festival website. Bag chairs are permitted at the festival. Towels and blankets to sit on are not prohibited - but are not listed on the festival's list of approved items.

Festival Approved Bags

Upheaval does not require clear bags, but it does have a size restriction of 14" x 11" x 5" and restricts bags to only one pocket/opening. The festival does permit hydration packs with no more than 2 additional pockets as long as it's empty on arrival.

The Experience

Upheaval spans two days and has two alternating stages and is held at Belknap Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In addition to the music you can also experience a VIP tour of the local breweries (tickets for the brewery tour are additional).

What do the different ticket levels mean? There are two separate ticket levels for the actual festival. General admission has access to both standing and seated GA areas. Upgrading to a VIP pass gives you access to the VIP lounge and other special amenities. In addition to access to the festival you can also purchase a brewery tour complete with beer samples.

Must have tips for Upheaval? In addition to the two days of rock Upheaval also hosts aftershows both days at The Intersection. The tickets are additional (but very affordable) and let you extend your festival even later. There's places to sit on a hill that looks over the stage. You may want to bring a towel or blanket to sit on. While the website does not expressly say these are permitted they have been in the past. You can bring chairs in (bag chairs are preferred by the festival).
